Wizard of Oz & Rainbow's End!

RAINBOWS END

On Wednesday 27th of November the year six's went to Rainbow's End. When we first got there the security checked our bags to make sure we were safe, They also gave us wrist bands so we could get inside. When we got inside our teacher told us where to put our bags and all the rules, then we set off and went on most of the rides. I was so glad that I was tall enough to ride most of the rides. My favorite rides were the stratosfer and the rollercoaster.                  Here are some photos of our day.

WIZARD OF OZ

On Friday the 29th of November Kauri team and a few others went to go see the Wizard of Oz. It was a last minute suggestion and a great experience, I really enjoyed the munchkin part it was my favorite.

2019 Cultural Festival

On Saturday the 23rd of November, our school participated in a cultural festival at rocket park. There were many groups and schools including: Samoan, Indian and Niuean, and the schools were: Wesley intermidiate, New windsor and more. But I chose CookIsland. The reason I chose Cookisland is because I love the Cookisland culture and because I'm half Cookisland.

Richie Patterson's visit to our school

Today, Kauri team got the opportunity to meet Richie patterson.Richie patterson is an olympian and a ambasitor (someone who talks to schools about his journey).He told us about his journey through weight lifting and also taught us about failure, he said that its okay to  fail, as well as about the olympic values; Friendship, Excellence and respect.Failing is a stage of life and also an oppurtunity to learn from your mistakes.as long as you try your best.

Day 1: Fish Island Day/Part 2: The Rickety Bridge Day/Part 3:The Magic tree

Characters:Mum:Beatrice, Dad:Coal, Oldest girl:Robin, Middle boy:Klaus, Youngest girl:Raven


Calmly, the family moved in not seeing anything suspicious about their floating island. Every day they would do as they normally would in a NORMAL house, until one day they all decided to go for a swim. Robin loved swimming and was a complete science know-it-all, as well as Klaus so she decided to swim deeper, but because she was so smart she knew she could possibly run out of oxygen so she prepared an oxygen tank Narrator: I don't know how she knew she was going to need an oxygen tank but anyway CONTINUE..... Robin found a fin a tail and weirdly enough an eye. She couldn't possibly figure out what it was until she swam a little bit back and saw the picture.Then something striked her and her family,They were really moving.They could see ripples forming in the water below

Frantically, the family had escaped the horror of the moving fish house, only to find out that they have to cross a bridge that looks like its been sitting there for years maybe even centuries. Although, it looked a bit wonky and strange.As Robin being the science know-it-all had figured out that ONLY ONE person could go on AT A TIME, but the bridge would break if 8 people went on separately, luckily for them there were only five people in the family. They had to weight less than 45kgs, the parents weight 35 kgs while he kids weight 25 kgs except for Robin, she was 30 kgs. Slowly, they started to go on oldest to youngest.This was the only  way out. There was no turning back now luckily they survived only to find out that...........

Nervously, they wondered why there was just a mythical tree in such a baren place.They were wondering and scouring for hours, until Raven (the youngest) notices something. Slowly, The bark begun to peel away, one piece at a time.Suddenly a loud grumble striked them HYU!!, then they looked back and saw something green like a portal maybe? They frantically rushed into the portal and did'nt dare to look back.

Day 3: The Ghostly Shadow

Cautiously, Beatrice (The little girl) took a step forward and heard the trees behind her screeching as if they were talking to one another. Then all of a sudden she sees something in the darker depths of the forest, she thinks she is hallucinating because one second she sees it, then next she doesn't.She turns around and hears the leaves rustling as if someone was there.She starts to Scour the area looking for something to potentially eat, drink or do.She finds nothing but a couple of blue berries, she is not sure wether  she should eat them or if she should abandon this creepy "Trip".
